Argentina’s Minister of Domestic Trade resigns

Argentina’s Minister of Domestic Trade resigns

Roberto Feletti, Argentina’s Secretary of Domestic Trade, resigned on Monday amid structural changes to the economic cabinet as part of the government’s increased battle against inflation.

“I have resigned from the job of Secretary of Domestic Trade. I would like to thank President Alberto Fernandez for his trust, as well as the ministers (of Productive Development) Matias Kulfas and (of Economy) Martin Guzman for their always professional and polite treatment.

In a letter, Feletti tweeted.
As part of the revisions, the Secretariat of Domestic Trade, which is critical to combating inflation, will be absorbed into the Economy Ministry.

“The transfer of the Secretariat of Domestic Trade from the Productive Development Ministry to the Economy Ministry opens a new stage,” Feletti wrote in the letter. ”

The latter will be in charge of economic policy in a comprehensive manner, incorporating into its orbit pricing policy and other missions and functions related to the Secretariat that I headed up to now.”
Feletti, who has managed the Secretariat of Domestic Trade since October 12, 2021, will be replaced by Guillermo Hang, the current director of Argentina’s Central Bank (BCRA), according to official news agency Telam.

“Hang, who has a long public service experience, worked in several divisions of the Economy Ministry between 2008 and 2015,” Telam stated.
