Chris Hemsworth previously told fans that the new trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder will “blow your mind,” and now they can see for themselves during Monday’s NBA playoff game on ABC.
At San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, Marvel unveiled the title for Love and Thunder, revealing that Natalie Portman will be returning to the franchise for the first time since Thor: The Dark World (2013).
Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, will take on the role of Mighty Thor in the next film. Tessa Thompson returns as Valkyrie, and Christian Bale and Russell Crowe make their franchise debuts. Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista reprise their roles from the Guardians of the Galaxy saga in this production.
After rebooting the Thor series with Thor: Ragnarok, filmmaker Taika Waititi returns to direct Love and Thunder (2017). Waititi has subsequently won an Oscar and established himself as a crucial member of the Disney family, starring in and directing episodes of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian and creating a Star Wars feature film for the studio.
Hemsworth becomes the first Marvel actor to star in his fourth solo picture with Love and Thunder. The character was last seen in Avengers: Endgame (2019), in which he was presented as a dejected Thor who had failed to stop Thanos. The first teaser for Love and Thunder was released in April and featured a Thor who had given up the heroic life after the events of Avengers: Endgame.
