The Ukraine Defense Contact Group had a virtual meeting on Monday, and roughly 20 countries announced additional security aid packages for Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
According to a source, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley said this following the meeting.
New actions in favor of Ukraine were announced at the summit, according to Austin.
He underlined that several countries also supply ammunition, armored vehicles, and other equipment to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Furthermore, he claims that numerous countries provide training to members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Milley, for his part, stated that the Ukraine Contact Group has grown to 47 countries this time, which he believes is a significant indicator.
He described today’s meeting as an excellent opportunity to coordinate collaborative efforts to provide Ukraine with timely and effective support and military assistance.
He emphasized that the quality and quantity of aid that friends offer to Ukraine is directly related to its defense capability to safeguard its land.
The military chiefs also stated that the Ukraine Contact Group’s next meeting will be held in person on June 15 in Brussels, on the sidelines of the NATO defense ministerial.
