Russian forces were forced back from the strategically significant city of Severodonetsk in eastern Ukraine overnight; but were repelled to prior positions, according to President Zelensky’s administration.

According to the statement from the office, seven residences in Severodonetsk and at least 27 houses in adjacent towns and villages were destroyed.
According to the Ukrainian military general command; the offensive on Severodonetsk was part of a larger assault along the line of contact between Russian and Ukrainian forces.
“The enemy forces are ready to renew the offensive in the direction of Sloviansk” the Ukrainian military staff stated; referring to another important city in the region.
