On Thursday morning, a Houston woman was getting ready for work when her estranged husband reportedly entered her apartment and fatally shot her, the couple’s 4-year-old daughter, and his mother-in-law, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
Gonzalez claimed that the pair had been in “divorce procedures or some sort of legal separation” for around five months, during which time the husband reportedly slashed the wife’s tires and “possibly tried to down” his daughter. According to cops, neighbors heard four gunshots at the flat and contacted 911 on Thursday morning.
“It’s a terrible scenario, especially with a four-year-old involved.” “It really tears your heart beyond words,” Gonzalez said to reporters at the scene.
“It looks she was on her way to work this morning, like she does every day, and to be greeted by violence is absolutely horrible.”
The alleged murder-suicide took occurred in a northwest Houston apartment complex. Before phoning the police, neighbors heard four gunshots, and a pistol was discovered beside the husband’s body at the site. An autopsy will be performed by the Harris County medical examiner to identify the exact cause of death. The identity of the family, believed to be originally from Pakistan, has not been revealed.
