According to the governor of the region, Serhei Haiday, Russian bombardment of the eastern Ukrainian city of Severodonetsk killed at least 12 people and injured another 40.

The regional governor of Luhansk announced on social media that “12 people have died and more than 40 people have been injured in Severodonetsk.”

He accused Russian forces of “randomly” bombarding the city with heavy weaponry and warning that the death toll might climb.

Haiday’s accusations could not be independently verified.
