BERLIN: The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said on Thursday that it has begun enrolling hundreds of prisoners of war (POWs) from the besieged Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol, Ukraine.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) stated in a statement that the effort to trace fighters fleeing the factory, including the injured, began on Tuesday and was still proceeding on Thursday.
The ICRC keeps track of people who have been captured by recording information from them as part of the procedure.
It further stated that it was not taking the POWs to their detention facilities.
