Ukraine: Zelensky wants to extend martial law

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed a measure to Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada to extend martial law. Quoting the website of the parliament

The measure was registered on May 18, 2022, according to the report.

The bill’s text and an accompanying memo have yet to be released.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24. On the same day, Ukraine declared martial law. It was scheduled to run through March 26. It was then extended for another 30 days, till April 25th.

President Volodymyr Zelensky filed Bill No. 7300 in the Verkhovna Rada on April 19 to extend martial law in Ukraine.

The Verkhovna Rada prolonged martial law until April 21, 2022.
