Amy Broadhurst and Lisa O’Rourke, both from Ireland, will compete for gold at the Women’s World Boxing Championships in Istanbul.
Broadhurst won a split decision over Parveen from India in her light-welterweight semi-final.
Meanwhile, O’Rourke’s controlled effort earned him a unanimous victory over Turkey’s Sema Caliskan.
Both fighters are guaranteed a silver medal and at least $50,000 in prize money.
Ireland’s only prior medalists at the World Championships were Olympic champion Kellie Harrington and undefeated Katie Taylor.
Broadhurst, a two-time quarter-finalist and former European junior and youth champion, was the more aggressive fighter and landed some early combinations.
Broadhurst’s early exchanges gave her the opener across the board as Parveen grew into the round.
The Indian fighter won a split second round as the 22-year-old attempted to put Broadhurst under pressure with a barrage of punches, but the 25-year-old landed enough counter-punches to win two judges’ decisions and put her in a great position to advance to the final.
Parveen, who needed a good last round to beat Broadhurst, started out strong again but was frustrated by the Dundalk fighter, and a strong closing combination was enough for a 4-1 split-decision victory.
Broadhurst, who will compete for Northern Ireland in the Commonwealth Games this summer, will face Imane Khelif of Algeria in the final on Thursday.
Khelif won a unanimous decision over Chelsey Heijnen of the Netherlands.
With a great performance against home favorite Caliskan two bouts after Broadhurst reached the final, O’Rourke made it a double celebration for Ireland.
O’Rourke was on top from the start, taking advantage of her height and reach, but she was deemed to have lost 3-2 in a close first round.
The second round began with both fighters trading blows, and with 20 seconds left in the round, O’Rourke used a beautiful one-two combination to knock the home fighter off her feet.
The 20-year-old won the second round unanimously, giving the Roscommon boxer the advantage of moving into the final three minutes.
Caliskan, who needed a good finish, got the jump on O’Rourke, but the 20-year-old kept his cool and stopped the Turkish fighter from doing any harm.
Caliskan pushed hard in the closing minute, but he eventually opened up, allowing O’Rourke to score several huge blows and claim Ireland’s second final position.
On Thursday, O’Rourke will meet Helena Panguane in the light-middleweight final after the Mozambican overcame Kazakhstan’s Valentina Khalzova.
