Justin Crump, a retired British Army tank commander, explains the “interesting compromise” on Mariupol’s evacuation.
“Russia appears to have compromised on control of that surrendering process,” he continued, “I believe to assure fair treatment of prisoners, which is perhaps more than they had initially expected if they surrendered to Russian forces a few days ago.”
Mr. Crump claims that Donetsk appears to be the major Russian goal in the east.
“[The Russians] have practically conquered the remaining part of Luhansk Oblast, and they are highly concentrated on that area.”
He claims, however, that Russia is running out of equipment.
