As summer-like temperatures creeps across the country

Wednesday will see record heat across the Southern Plains, as well as sections of the Southeast. Warmth will stretch into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast by Friday and Saturday, bringing the first 80s and 90s of the year to millions.

In the next days, high temperatures of 15 to 25 degrees above average will make it feel more like July or early August than mid-May.

Dallas, Atlanta, Memphis, Washington, New York, and Philadelphia are all anticipated to set new highs through Saturday.

If New York reaches 90 degrees on Saturday; it will be two weeks ahead of schedule for the first 90 degree day of the year, which is usually June 3.
