Minnesota’s attorney general stated Wednesday that Thomas Lane had filed a guilty plea to aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter in Floyd’s death.

In the death of George Floyd, a Black man whose police assassination sparked worldwide protests against systematic racism; a former Minneapolis police officer pleaded guilty to manslaughter on Wednesday.
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison stated Wednesday that the ex-officer; Thomas Lane, had entered a guilty plea to a state charge of aiding and abetting second-degree homicide.
A representative for Ellison’s office says, a charge of aiding and abetting second-degree murder; was dismissed as part of the plea deal.
According to the spokeswoman, the state and defence recommended to the court that Lane be sentenced to three years in prison. His sentencing date has been set for September 21.
