As battle continues and the beleaguered port city of Mariupol seems increasingly likely to fall into Russian hands, the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has given its daily update on the situation in Ukraine.
According to the statement, “stalwart” Ukrainian forces successfully postponed the city’s seizure, inflicting “costly human casualties” on Russian soldiers.
Moscow, on the other hand, has made “major use of supplementary people,” most likely deploying Chechen fighters to Mariupol and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine.
The Russian army has also been affected by “severe resource challenges,” as seen by their “disparate personnel,” according to the Ministry of Defense.
It found that this is “likely contributing to a disunited leadership that continues to obstruct Russia’s actions.”
(7/7) The combat deployment of such disparate personnel demonstrates Russia's significant resourcing problems in Ukraine and is likely contributing to a disunited command which continues to hamper Russia’s operations.
