The rare viral virus monkeypox has been diagnosed in four people in England. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) reported on Monday that three instances had been discovered in London and one in the northeast of England.
Although the virus is primarily spread by wild animals in western and central Africa, the UKHSA is presently examining ties between the four patients, all of whom are suspected to have contracted it in the capital.
The additional instances are unrelated to the two previously reported on May 14th, as well as a single case detected on May 7th.
