KARACHI: In light of the soaring terrorism in the metropolitan city, Karachi police have convened an emergency meeting to discuss the overall security situation.

As per details, Additional IG Karachi has convened the meeting at 3 pm today (Tuesday) and all DIGs, SSPs, DSPs and SHOs were directed to sit in the session.

Not only this, traffic police officials were also directed to catch the meeting.

The sources privy to the matter disclosed that a security plan would be carved and discussions would be held to decide on the security SOPs of patrolling police mobiles, motorcycles and personnel.

The agenda of making Karachi more peaceful and secure would also be part of the meeting.

The development came after the horrible blast incident that claimed the life of a woman and left 11 others injured on Monday night.

The incident took place at the Kharadar area of Karachi at Iqbal market and as per sources, a police mobile van and a number of motorcycles have been damaged in the blast.

Police sources said their van might be the target of the explosion and ostensibly the 2 kg bomb was planted in a bike.
