Mayor Blames Judge for Juarez Massacre of Four Adults and Two Children

Mayor Blames Judge for Juarez Massacre of Four Adults and Two Children

According to the mayor of Juarez, the killings of four people and two children may have been prevented if a federal court had not freed three alleged cartel members last Friday.

“The municipal police arrested these persons […] at the very least we could have prevented the death of the children if the judge had done his job and hadn’t released these persons,” Mayor Cruz Perez Cuellar said Monday.

The victims were gunned down on Tecnologico Avenue late Friday afternoon, just after leaving a federal courthouse. According to the Chihuahua state police, the casualties were three males aged 30 to 50, a lady aged 30 to 35, and two youngsters aged 10 to 12. Five people died at the spot, and one died later at the IMSS Hospital.
