According to a senior official with the US Defense Department, Russia fired around a half-dozen long-range missiles towards Lviv, hitting a training location.
The missiles were fired from submarines in the Black Sea, and officials were unsure whether the training area was targeted, according to the official, who added that only little damage was done to multiple buildings.
According to the official, the Ukrainian military has gained ground near Kharkiv and has pushed the Russians to within two kilometres of the Russian border.
