The director of the regional administration announced early Monday that Ukrainian soldiers had reached the Russian border north of Kharkiv, the country’s second-largest city.
“We are proud of the men of the 227th Battalion of the 127th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who restored the state border sign!” Oleh Synegubov wrote in a Telegram post.
Ukrainian forces happily posed with a blue and yellow outpost in a video included with the post. In recent weeks; they began a counter-offensive to drive Russian forces out of the area.
