KHARKIV, Ukraine (Ukraine) — Liliya Gritchina, who lives in a tent beneath the Imeni Maselskoho metro station in Kharkiv, claims she has only seen the sun four times since Russia invaded.

Even as Ukrainian forces push Russian troops away from this vital northeastern city; the metro station columns have become makeshift addresses for scores of individuals still cowering from the danger of bombardment and missiles.
“I saw rockets in the sky one time when I left the shelter.” “I was terrified because there were sirens,” Gritchina, a 42-year-old seamstress, said from her tent on the crowded subway platform.
