Kelly Rizzo discussed her late husband Bob Saget, claiming that the comedian is still her husband.
Rizzo told a panel of women who had all lost partners that she still talks to the Full House star even after his death.
“It’s like, he’s still my husband,” the 42-year-old widow told Amanda Kloots.
“It’s not like, ‘Oh, he’s my ex-husband,'” she says. It’s as if… the relationship has changed. It’s just — it is what it is,” Rizzo continued, adding that all of her loved ones who are no longer with her are “still there” in her heart.
“You’ll notice I still don’t say the D-word (death) — I say ‘the day everything happened,” she added to Kloots.
“I mean, I still talk to him and have his pictures all over,” she said, revealing that she hosted his daughters in her new home, which she refers to as a museum dedicated to the late television host.
“His girls came to stay with me for the first time since I moved into the new house just this last week, and I was like, ‘So it’s kind of like a museum to your dad, so don’t freak out, but yes, he’s everywhere,” she continued.”
“And then they’ll catch me every now and then, like, talking to a picture, and they’ll be like, ‘Stepmommy Kelly, are you OK?'”
“I’m sure Bob would want me to be there for his girls,” Rizzo said at the end. “When I’m trying to help, support, or be there for them, I’m not as focused on my own grief.”
“It takes me out of my head when I do little things to try to make them happy. And I’m thinking, ‘Oh, this would make Bob so happy, just knowing that I’m trying to make them happy.'”
