UEFA: Rangers fans not to travel to Seville without tickets

UEFA has advised Rangers fans not to travel to Seville for the Europa League final unless they have a match ticket.

The security risk presented by big numbers of ticketless fans in the city is a concern for UEFA.

Thousands of Rangers and Eintracht Frankfurt fans were upset after tickets for the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, which has a capacity of 43,000, were unavailable.

Flights to the Andalusian capital have been in strong demand, although there are currently no confirmed plans for a fan zone in the city.

Ranger’s fans are being urged by European football’s governing body not to travel to Seville without a match ticket or to buy one on resale sites.

“While UEFA recognizes that some supporters will be rejected in their ticket applications, they are strongly advised not to travel to the finals without tickets or buy tickets on the secondary market.”

“To ensure the safety and security of spectators, ticket holders should be advised that security checks will be conducted at the finals, and local authorities in the cities will take action against ticket resale that is not authorized.”

“Any tickets marketed for sale on the internet by third parties (including on social media, marketplaces, and secondary ticketing platforms) are in violation of the ticket terms and conditions.”

“UEFA rigorously enforces its ticketing terms and conditions, including through online monitoring, and will take action (including ticket cancellation) if unauthorized marketing are discovered.”

“Fans should also be aware that third parties selling tickets on the internet are frequently out of possession of the tickets they claim to have for sale, yet charging excessive rates.”

“Furthermore, UEFA is aware that, as with past finals, the high demand for tickets may result in counterfeit tickets being sold on the secondary market. Fans should be aware that counterfeit tickets will not be accepted into stadiums.”

The Europa League final on May 18 will be attended by 10,000 Rangers fans.
