Russian troops are barricading underground corridors at the Azovstal complex in Mariupol, but Ukrainian defenders are conducting counterattacks.

According to source, Mariupol Mayor’s Advisor Petro Andriushchenko made the appropriate statement on Telegram.

“The enemy did not discontinue their ground attack attempts yesterday. The main goal is to block the exits from underground channels that a traitor revealed to the enemy. Despite this, Mariupol’s defenders are attempting a counterattack, risking everything. Andriushchenko wrote, “There are no words to express the gallantry of Mariupol defenders.”

In his opinion, enemy drones are one of the most serious issues. Things would have been lot easier for Mariupol defenders if there had been a means to blind or disable them.

Ukraine has offered Russia the release of Russian prisoners of war in exchange for the evacuation of badly injured Ukrainian soldiers from the Azovstal complex.

It is now impossible to unblock the Mariupol-based Azovstal plant using military methods, according to Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Temporary Occupied Territories Reintegration Minister Iryna Vereshchuk. The defenders of Mariupol have no intention of surrendering, and the Russian side cannot agree on an extraction procedure.
