Since the beginning of May 2022, Russia has launched 74 cruise and ballistic missiles towards Ukraine. Brigadier General Oleksii Hromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, made the relevant comment at a news conference, according to a journalist.
“The Russian Federation’s Armed Forces launched 49 missile attacks from Russian territory in May 2022.” Four Iskander missiles, eight Tochka-U missiles, and two cruise sea- and air-based missiles were among the 74 cruise and ballistic missiles fired. According to Hromov, 459 air attack were fired.
According to him, Russia’s major aims in Ukraine were transportation infrastructure facilities in the south and east. Other key infrastructure facilities were also targeted by Russian soldiers.
“Since the full-scale warfare began, Russian troops have launched 487 missile attacks.” During this time, 788 cruise and ballistic missiles were launched from Russian and Belarusian territory. Iskander missiles (213 units), Tochka-U missiles (61 units), and cruise missiles for sea and air are among them (235 units). “The enemy flew 4,917 combat missions,” Hromov said.
A reminder that Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, triggering a war. Russian troops are shelling and destroying critical infrastructure, unleashing missile and air strikes on Ukrainian cities and villages, torturing and killing civilians.
