The Azovstal steel mill in Mariupol, Ukraine’s southern port city; was once again engulfed in flames on Wednesday, according to a mayor’s advisor. The Russian military has dispatched tanks and soldiers into the city; they attempt to break through the last pocket of Ukrainian resistance before it is taken by Moscow.

“Azovstal is under attack from the skies and artillery, as well as tanks. In a Telegram message, mayoral adviser Petro Andryushchenko stated, “They’re also trying to break through with personnel.” “If hell exists on Earth, it exists.”
He stated the city has a “catastrophic lack of medical professionals and access to medicine” outside of the steel factory. Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boychenko claimed that due to a shortage of key infrastructure, including as clean water and sanitation, up to 10,000 people could die in the occupied city by the end of the year.
