RIYADH: The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah established an age limit for pilgrims visiting the Kingdom to make the annual Hajj pilgrimage on Wednesday.
Only persons under the age of 65 would be allowed to perform Hajj with Covid-19 SOPs, according to the Saudi ministry.
“Those under the age of 65 who have obtained COVID-19 vaccinations approved by the Saudi Ministry of Health are eligible to participate in this year’s Hajj,” according to an official statement from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
Upon arriving in Saudi Arabia, pilgrims must have a Covid-19 negative result. According to the government, the test has to be taken at least 72 hours before departure.

Following the relaxation of COVID rules, Saudi Arabia has declared that 1 million pilgrims will be welcomed for Hajj this year.
According to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Kingdom will welcome 1 million pilgrims for Hajj this year, including both domestic and foreign pilgrims.
Pakistan has the second-highest pilgrim quota in the world.
After allowing one million individuals to attend the holy pilgrimage this year, Saudi Arabia has granted Pakistan the second-highest quota of Hajj pilgrims.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has established a dedicated Hajj helpline to assist pilgrims planning to travel to Saudi Arabia in 2022 to conduct the pilgrimage.
According to APP News, the helpline’s goal is to provide timely registration, assistance, and settlement of grievances from Hajj 2022 participants.
