HFA-Studio revealed on Instagram that the Dancing Baby, one of the first viral memes that all 90s youngsters remember, is now emerging as an NFT after almost 26 years.
In the late 1990s, the Dancing Baby became a worldwide sensation. It was a looping 3D graphic depicting an almost naked toddler. It’s making a comeback as a non-fungible token now.
Michael Girard, Robert Lurye, and John Chadwick, the GIF’s animators, partnered with Vienna-based creative group HFA-Studio to introduce the update.
“Shake it like it’s 1996: The Dancing Baby is back!” HFA-Studio said.
Their social media has been flooded with remixes. The baby’s facial characteristics are more realistic in the latest versions because of the greater resolution. Some versions have been given an artistic and creative touch.
“It’s pretty hard not to giggle at it the way it moves,” CNN reported media artist Xtine Burrough as saying.
