Kuleba: Since the war start, NATO has not taken a strong position

Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s foreign minister, said he does not have high hopes for the upcoming informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers because NATO has not taken a clear stance on Ukraine since the Russian invasion began on February 24.

According to source, he announced this at a joint press conference with his Dutch counterpart Wopke Hoekstra in Kyiv on Tuesday, May 10.

“At this point, I don’t have high hopes from this conference,” Kuleba said, “because we’ve seen a very active involvement of individual NATO members or the groups they establish since the beginning of the war, but we haven’t seen an active and strong position of the alliance as an organization.”

He also stated that he had not yet received an invitation to the NATO foreign ministers’ informal summit in Berlin, but that he would attend if he did.

“Given the objective reality, I find it strange to debate any security issues in the Euro-Atlantic region in NATO without Ukraine. However, the alliance will make that decision. This is a private matter for them “he stated

Kuleba further stated that the Ukrainian fronts are deciding the destiny of Europe and the Euro-Atlantic area.

On May 14-15, the North Atlantic Council will hold an informal meeting at the level of foreign ministers in Berlin.
