According to the Azov Battalion, whose members have formed the city’s last pocket of resistance and held out for weeks under intense attacks; Russian forces shelled the Azovstal steel complex in Mariupol on Tuesday.
The plant has been hit by bombers, naval gunfire, and tanks in the last day; according to a Telegram statement by the organisation.
The battalion, an experienced volunteer group with neo-Nazi roots that has been defending the steel mill; he said “The enemy does not cease trying to conquer the Ukrainian fortress and continues to carry out regular attacks with the help of troops.”
Russian soldiers have launched a strong assault on the facility as they attempt to seize the remaining corner; of the vital southern port city still under Ukrainian control.
