According to Ukraine’s defence ministry, Russian forces in Ukraine are transporting grain and other agricultural products to Crimea, Russia, and other countries.

Ukrainian grain is being exported abroad

“A considerable amount of grain taken from Ukraine is on dry cargo ships sailing in the Mediterranean under the Russian flag”; the defence intelligence post claimed on Telegram. “Syria is the most likely destination.” Grain can then be transported into other Middle Eastern countries.”

Beets, potatoes, and cabbage have also been supplied to Crimea in “huge quantities,” according to the defence ministry.

Ukraine is one of the world’s leading wheat exporters and the world’s largest sunflower oil exporter.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine warned on Monday that the blockade of Odesa; as well as others like it, was endangering the world’s food supply.
