ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz will leave for London tonight to meet party supremo Nawaz Sharif, sources informed Bol News.
Nawaz, currently based in London, has summoned a high-level party huddle to discuss contemporary political developments and economic challenges of the country.
Shehbaz will fly from British Airways flight BA-260. Separately, a high-level delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leadership will fly tomorrow, including Ahsan Iqbal, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Khawaja Saad Rafique and Khurram Dastaghir.
Former premier and PML-N stalwart Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is already in London.
Meanwhile, PM Shehbaz has ordered the issuance of diplomatic passport to his elder brother and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and ordinary passport to former finance minister Ishaq Dar.
According to a media report, High Commission of Pakistan in London has immediately been ordered to issue the passports to both personalities.
he High Commission personnel informed the authorities concerned that Ishaq Dar could not be issued a diplomatic passport.
Shehbaz Sharif was sworn-in as the country’s 23rd prime minister a day earlier after he won a no-confidence vote from the National Assembly against his predecessor Imran Khan. Acting President and Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani had administered the oath.
Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on his election as Prime Minister of Pakistan. In a tweet, Modi expressed the desire for peace and stability in the region.
In a series of tweets, Shehbaz Sharif congratulated people on peaceful transition of power. He said it was a matter of pride that all our institutions respected the constitution as a guiding principle.
