Kim Kardashian’s no-carb, no-sugar diet in order to fit into a historic gown originally worn by Marilyn Monroe for the 2022 Met Gala look has lately disturbed specialists who feel that these “cleaning or crash diets” only work in the “near term.”
Mascha Davis, an L.A.-based nutritionist, told E! News that losing a significant amount of weight in three weeks is difficult.
“If you think about restricting particular meals to attempt to lose such a large amount of weight in a couple of weeks, it is [an] unhealthy alternative,” said the Eat Your Vitamins author.
“I would not advise them to do it,” she stated.
Davis believes that losing weight rapidly is not a “good sustainable answer” since people typically take out key food categories from their diet, which is harmful.
It’s worth noting that once they quit the “crash or short-term diet,” they regain it all as quickly as possible.
“And they often have an even more difficult time taking the weight off again,” Davis noted.
Davis highlighted that persons who “reduce weight gradually and steadily (approximately 1 to 2 pounds per week) are more effective at keeping weight off,” citing studies undertaken by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
She went on to say, “It’s not a fast fix.” It requires a significant amount of time.”
Meanwhile, Kardashian’s trainer Don-A-Matrix told TMZ that her weight loss journey is not “unhealthy.” She would not eat much and would exercise vigorously in order to lose those additional kilogrammes.
To this end, Davis argued that women need a certain amount of macro-nutrients for their hormones to function properly.
“If one is working out a lot, then they need extra fuel; lack of it can damage their muscles and internal organs,” advised Davis.
