Marija Pejinovi Buri, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, paid a visit to Borodianka and Irpin in the Kyiv region today.
The demolished apartment complexes were displayed to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe. Pejinovi Buri witnessed the devastating effects of Russia’s shelling of peaceful towns, as well as evidence of Russia’s war crimes.
“The aggressor’s war crimes must be known to the entire world. Ukrainians are today’s outpost in the war for Europe’s and the world’s civilised future. It’s also critical that our European allies back us up. I am grateful to our eminent visitors who came to Kyiv on May 9th, Nazism’s Victory Day. We shall triumph and reconstruct our city.” Oleksandr, the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration posted on Telegram.
Emine Dzheppar, Ukraine’s First Deputy Foreign Minister, who accompanied the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, said to private channel that Marija Pejinovi Buri made a significant visit of support and solidarity. “Despite Russian persuasion, she was the sole leader of an international organization who attended the Crimea Platform summit. She was one of the first to condemn Russia after its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
“The Council of Europe became the first international organization from which Russia was expelled in disgrace, removing the tricolor, which became a symbol of Ruscism, similar to Nazism, from the alley of flags of member states,” Dzheppar stressed.
