ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Miftah Ismail is to chair a meeting of Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) today (Monday).

As per details, the agenda of the ECC meeting focused on the demand and supply of wheat, whereas the issue of wheat import will also be discussed.

The sources privy to the matter revealed that PASSCO and Punjab would be allowed to purchase additional wheat while the meeting will also discuss the prices of sugar and flour.

It was disclosed by the sources close to the finance ministry that the prices of flour and sugar are likely to increase.

The ECC meet will also approve the Prime Minister’s Relief Package for the months of May and June. Not only this, the meeting will likely approve a supplementary grant for the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat.
