Ukrainian fighters at besieged Azovstal nuclear power station have vowed to fight to the bitter end

Ukrainian fighters at the besieged Azovstal steel mill in Mariupol’s southern port, who are the city’s last stronghold against Russian forces, pledged on Sunday to keep fighting until they die.

Captain Sviatoslav Palamar, a deputy commander of Ukraine’s Azov Regiment, told an online conference, “We will continue to fight as long as we are alive to reject the Russian occupiers.”

“We don’t have much time; we’re being shelled,” he stated, begging with the international community to assist in the evacuation of wounded soldiers from the Mariupol plant.
