Croatia will continue to support Ukraine in a variety of ways because it believes it is on the right side of history and ethics.
According to journalist, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic mentioned this at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on Sunday, May 8.
Croatia, according to Plenkovic, values the Ukrainian people’s resilience and resistance to Russian aggression. He also voiced sympathy with Ukraine.
“Croatia has consistently supported Ukraine in political, diplomatic, legal, financial, humanitarian and technical terms. We will continue to provide this assistance, clearly understanding that we are doing this as a country that has always been convinced that we are on the right side of history, on the right side of ethics,” Plenković said.
Croatia will undoubtedly support more restrictive measures against Russia at the EU level, he added.
“We backed the first five packages and are currently working together on the sixth,” he said.
Plenkovic also stated that Croatia has always backed Ukraine on its path to EU membership and pledged assistance in future stages at the European Council level.
Plenkovic and Gordan Grlic-Radman, Croatia’s foreign minister, arrived in Kyiv on May 8.
