Horrifying experience: Rollercoaster gets stuck leaving riders hanging upside down for 45 minutes

According to Fox 59, a roller coaster at Carowinds amusement park in North Carolina abruptly stopped working, leaving riders hanging upside down for 45 minutes.

The Flying Cobra, which sends riders in a 360-degree loop, trapped riders. The 125-foot-tall coaster reaches speeds of up to 50 mph and flips six times during its journey.

One of the trapped coaster passengers, Allen, detailed the terrifying ordeal. “I stood there, watching my tears fall from the sky.” He described it as “terrifying.”

He went on to say, “We believed he was joking because of the surprise element or something.”

While 45 minutes on a typical day isn’t much, it might feel like hours when you’re upside-down and facing the earth.

“Parents were trying to communicate with their children, screaming, ‘It’s going to be okay!'” Allen explained.

The maintenance personnel at Carowinds amusement park responded promptly and efficiently, according to a statement.

Two fast pass vouchers were also handed to the participants.
