In Hyderabad, India, a Dalit man was beaten to death by his Muslim wife’s brother, according to Hindustan Times.

Billipuram Nagaraju’s wife, Ashrin Sultana, described the incident, stating she didn’t realise it was her brother who had attacked the couple at first.

Sultana was severely injured when her brother used an iron rod to strike the couple.

“We were on our way home when my brother and another guy arrived on a motorcycle and shoved and beat my husband. I didn’t realise it was my brother who was attacking him at first. Nobody came to our aid “Sultana stated.

Nagaraju and Sultana met at the same high school and college, where they began dating. Before they married, they had been dedicated to each other for five years.
