UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson expressed his thoughts to Ukrainians, in a video greeting released on victory in Europe on Sunday.
He dedicated to “those who’ve died and suffered in Russia’s illegal invasion.”
Johnson sent his “respect and gratitude” to those who have fought in previous conflicts which “strengthens our determination to support the people of Ukraine in their struggle.”
The message concluded with, “We won’t forget the sacrifices that have been made over the generations to ensure peace and freedom in Europe.”
Numerous European countries commemorate victory in Europe Day, which commemorates the Allies’ formal acceptance of Nazi Germany’s defeat on May 8, 1945.
