Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued heatwave warning from today and advised public to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight.

The spokesperson said due to high pressure, day temperatures are likely to increase gradually from 06 to 09°C above normal in most parts of the country.

The spokesperson said very hot and dry weather may cause water stress on water reservoirs, crops, vegetables and orchards.

Hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very hot in plain areas during the next twelve hours.

Temperature of some major cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad nineteen degree centigrade,  Lahore twenty-six, Karachi twenty-eight, Peshawar twenty-two, Quetta seventeen, Gilgit fifteen, Murree thirteen and Muzaffarabad twenty degree centigrade.

According to Met office forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy with chances of rain-thunderstorm is expected in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramulla while partly cloudy in Jammu.

Srinagar and Pulwama twelve degree centigrade, Jammu twenty-three, Leh eight, Anantnag and Baramulla thirteen and Shopian eleven degree centigrade.
