Fire in Siberia

At least eight people have perished in fires in the eastern Russian Siberian province of Krasnoyarsk; where flames have torn through settlements and efforts to put out the fires have been impeded by heavy winds.

The Krasnoyarsk area has declared a state of emergency due to the severity of the wildfires.
According to Russia’s Interfax news agency; which cited the regional emergency management office, fires had spread to multiple communities in 12 districts across the region.

Three people were killed in flames in Talashanka, about 200 kilometres (124 miles) north of Krasnoyarsk, and two people were murdered in Nikolsk, about 300 kilometres (186 miles) west of Krasnoyarsk.
