Four people were killed and four others were injured after the roof of a mud home crumbled in Chaparhar district of eastern Nangarhar province on Friday, according to the state-run news agency Bakhtar.

The tragedy occurred on Friday night in Chaparhar area, following heavy rain, killing four people, including a lady and three children, and injuring four more.
Residential dwellings in war-torn Afghanistan are typically muddy and frequently destroyed during severe rains.

Over the last week, heavy rains and flooding have killed over 30 people and wounded about 40 more across the country.
