PPP steps back from key slot of Governor Punjab

LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) announced a step back from taking the slot of Governor Punjab, reported Bol News.

As per sources privy to the matter, the decision came after the meeting of PPP delegation with Chief Minister Punjab Hamza Shehbaz.

A high-level delegation of PPP including Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Senator Yousuf Raza Gilani, Qamar Zaman Kaira and Syed Ali Haider Gilani met CM Punjab today.

The sources also disclosed that significant progress was made in regard to the political situation and power-sharing between the two political parties.

While leaving the post of Punjab Governor, PPP sought posts in three ministries, more than two special assistants, chairmanship of the standing committee and two parliamentary secretaries.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz assured full cooperation in this regard and terms have been finalized for power-sharing in Punjab.

It is pertinent to mention here that Punjab parliamentary leader Syed Hassan Murtaza is likely to be made a senior minister while Syed Haider Ali Gilani, Makhdoom Syed Usman Mehmood and Mumtaz Ali Chang may fill the slots of ministers.
