Will Smith is preparing to return to the public spotlight with an interview with David Letterman later this month, after being barred from attending the Oscars for the next ten years.
According to reports, the King Richard actor, who recently travelled to India in search of spiritual direction, will appear on Netflix’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction on May 20.
However, because the show was taped earlier in the year, the 53-year-old actor will not be discussing his confrontation with the comedian on the stage of the Academy Awards event on March 27.
Smith allegedly taped the interview in January, when the two were observed conversing in West Hollywood, accompanied by a big film team.
Meanwhile, the Gemini Man star stated in a statement following the event that he had ‘betrayed the trust of the Academy’ before resigning from the organisation.
As a result, the celebrity is no longer eligible to vote in the Oscars.
