CALIFORNIA: A couple returned home after a trip to their home in California, United States, to discover hundreds of birds inside.
A swarm of swallows reportedly found its way in through the chimney, the couple told KRCR-TV.
“As we pulled up, we thought, ‘You know, 20 birds or so, that’s no big problem.’ When we open the door, it’s like something out of an Alfred Hitchcock film,” said houseowner Gary Reitemeyer. “Birds were flying about everywhere.” It was insane, to say the least. We had to duck and dodge.”
They had to engage a company to remove the remaining birds, but the damage they caused has resulted in a $20,000 charge.

Their insurance company stated that birds are a “exclusion” on their policy and that they will not cover the claim.
The removal of all the birds from their nest took three hours. They claimed to have gotten the majority of them to fly out the door.
