VEHARI: Six people were killed and five others injured when a coaster and a car collided head on near Ada 22 Kothi on Multan Road in Vehari on Friday.
Four critically injured persons were shifted to Nishtar Hospital Multan.
On May 5, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had directed the authorities concerned to hold investigation into accident of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Dr Shahbaz Gill that occurred on Lahore-Islamabad motorway.
Taking notice of the accident, he had said all requisites of justice should be met while holding the investigation.
The prime minister had expressed sympathy with the victims of accidents including Shahbaz Gill. Shehbaz Sharif had also directed to provide best medical treatment to Dr Shahbaz Gill and other injured.
Meanwhile, motorway police had said they had identified the vehicle that hit Shahbaz’s car. The police had said the driver had sped away after hitting the car. The culprit would soon be arrested, the police had said.
Earlier, Shahbaz Gill, who had got injured in the accident on motorway, had termed the road mishap an attempt to take his life. In a tweet, he had said his car was advertently hit from behind.
“I want to tell those who attacked me. I am alive because of my Lord and the prayers of my people. My car was chased and deliberately hit. This was done under a plan.
“I just said yesterday, at most you will get us killed. Get it done. I will not betray,” he had written.
