According to authorities, a Florida sheriff’s deputy drove over a lady who was sunbathing on St. Pete Beach. The incident occurred at 1:08 p.m. on Wednesday, when Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office officer Todd Brien drove over Robin Diffenderfer, 23, in a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe, according to the sheriff’s office.
When Deputy Brien hit Diffenderfer, who was “laying on her back on the sand,” he was responding to a 911 hang-up call at a separate area. The front tire “drove over Diffenderfer’s right side and mid to upper back area,” investigators said.
The 23-year-old was rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. According to the sheriff’s office, an investigation into the event is continuing.
