Experts remind out that, unlike Meghan Markle, Princess Diana worked ‘for years’ before becoming Britain’s icon.
Tina Brown, a royal biographer, revealed this during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine.
“She didn’t like it at all,” she was reported as saying. For her, the whole representational task of hiding your own beliefs and representing the monarchy was anathema.”
“It wasn’t how she saw her role, the world, she didn’t see the value of it, and for her, sure, she was a huge success, but it wasn’t something she wanted to do.”
“She saw the palaces and Diana as this worldwide humanitarian super hero, but she forgot that Diana toiled like a dog inside the Royal Family for 16 or 17 years, completing a lot of really boring duties.”
“It was her personality that made her so exceptionally remarkable on the job.”
While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are known to have just ‘upped and left,’ “that’s not how [Diana] regarded her job, the world, she didn’t see the meaning of it and for her, yeah, she was a big success, but it was not something she wanted to do.”
“She saw the palaces and Diana as this worldwide humanitarian super hero, but she forgot that Diana worked like a dog inside the Royal Family for 16 or 17 years, performing a lot of extremely mundane tasks.” It was the personality she brought to the work that made her so exceptional.”
