ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday said the Awami Muslim League (AML) chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rashid’s wish to ensue civil war in the country would never fulfill.
“People like Sheikh Rashid create environment of civil war. Why is Sheikh Rashid taking bail before arrest, if he is not afraid of being arrested?” Rana Sanaullah said in response to Sheikh Rashid’s press conference in which he hinted towards escalation of crisis in the country which could lead to bloodbath.
On the AML chief’s demand for fresh election and announcement of election date within 90 days, the interior minister said elections would not be held without holding loot of national treasury accountable.

“We have to decide now what the most suitable time for election is. Why do you beg from the government and state institutions for elections today?,” he said adding that they constitutionally ousted Imran Niazi from power.
“You should have held elections after dissolving assemblies. Imran Niazi had the authority, he should have timely dissolved assemblies,” he said.
Earlier, talking to the media outside his residence, Lal Haveli, in Rawalpindi, Sheikh Rashid warned of resolving the issues before May 31 as he feared that Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI)’s long march could go ‘out of control’ and things could turn bloody. He also offered Imran Khan of communication with the Pakistan Army, if he was assigned the duty.
The former interior minister claimed that the situation around Rawalpindi was worsening everyday and the country was moving towards a deeper crisis.
