On May Day, peace was a recurring topic, with calls for an end to Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.

Citizens and labour unions from all around the world have gathered to commemorate May Day, sending protest messages to their governments and calling for peace in Ukraine.
It’s a high-octane period for participants and their causes, and Sunday’s May Day marches were no exception, with cops on hand to keep the peace as street protests honoured International Workers’ Day, or May Day.
The conflict in Ukraine was also at the forefront of this year’s May Day statements, with national leaders and union representatives asking for peace but simultaneously warning that Russia’s conflict may extend across Europe.
