According to a recent podcast, VLADIMIR PUTIN’s troops “may not survive in Donbas,” as rumors emerge that the new onslaught in eastern Ukraine has “fizzled.”
In his evening address yesterday night, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia is seeking to “empty” the Donbas of civilians. He accused Putin’s forces of “constant brutal bombardments” on structures and residential areas in eastern Ukraine. Likening the situation to Mariupol, Mr. Zelensky said: “If the Russian invaders are able to realize their plans even partially, then they have enough artillery and aircraft to turn the entire Donbas into stones.” Despite Russia’s superior weaponry, the campaign in the Donbas is not proceeding as planned.
Russian troops have been forced to travel in single-file convoys on paved roads due to becoming trapped in the Ukrainian muck, making them easy pickings for resistance fighters.
When combined with Putin’s forces’ dangerously low morale, major concerns are arising about Russia’s ability to sustain the Donbas operation.
Journalist Mutaz Ahmed stated on The Telegraph’s ‘Ukraine: The Latest’ podcast that it is “becoming evident that Russia can’t protect itself against a medium to small-sized country.”
He said: “That’s very embarrassing, and it adds to this sense that the Russian military is a paper tiger.
“In the first stage of the war, we saw that the Russian army had deep logistical problems, but there was this sense when they withdrew from the areas surrounding Kyiv that we would see, finally, this Russian might.
“This great lion that we’ve been imagining would come back.”
